Abstract

This project consists of a proposal of a new process for the stereoselective preparation of cannabidiol (CBD-Figure 1) catalyzed by Lewis acid. This substance of natural origin is one of the components of the Cannabis sativa plant extract, which unlike (-) - trans-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), is a non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid. The interest in this project is due to the effectiveness of cannabidiol as a therapeutic agent in numerous pathological conditions. (AU)
