Application plan of the year 2021 regarding the technical reserve portion (base 2019) for institutional infrastructure costs.

Abstract

Lagoa do Sino, the latest of UFSCar's four campuses, was opened in 2014. It's installed in the municipality of Buri, on a highly productive 643-hectare farm in the southwest region of the state of São Paulo. The Nature Sciences Center (CCN) is the academic center of this campus and currently has 58 teachers and 44 technical-administrative and about 984 students from the five undergraduate courses. The professors from the Lagoa do Sino campus have participated in several postgraduate programs not only in the state of São Paulo but also in other institutions in Brazilian states. It is important to highlight the strong extension character of the Lagoa do Sino campus which, through its extension programs/projects, involves several applied researches. CCN's laboratories serve both teaching and research and are multiuse and have a support team from different areas. The amount available from the RTI/FAPESP to the CCN corresponds to the reserve of a single project directly supported by FAPESP. Based on the diagnosis of the current situation of research activities and infrastructure at the CCN and the discussions held within the Council of the Center for Natural Sciences to identify needs and considering the possibilities for support from FAPESP, this Plan is based on the following action: Adaptation of the Laboratory of NEEDS - Center for Studies in Spatial Ecology and Sustainable Development.
