Optical sensor on the near- and far-infrared (terahertz) based on frequency combs

Abstract

In this project, we propose to implement an optical sensor in the near- and far-infrared (terahertz) based on dual-comb spectrometers, generated by diode-pumped ultrashort pulse lasers. The spectrometers will allow high resolution and real-time measurements, providing a robust, compact and portable system operating with little or no human intervention and allowing measurements outside of a scientific lab. This development will be fundamental to several scientific and technological applications, as detailed in this proposal. (AU)
