Abstract

The principal objectives of the project are to study advanced techniques for the monitoring and evaluation of corrosion in the steel rebars of concrete structures, to define the requirements and criteria of performance of materials and systems for treatment, repair, and protection of steel rebars, with a view to preparing base texts of Brazilian specifications, procedures and test methods to be handed over to the ABNT; given that the evolution and consolidation of these norms should flow from studies of natural ageing, to be initiated by the project, in four locations in the state of São Paulo, specially chosen to represent the atmospheric conditions of humid, dry, industrial and maritime climate.
