Abstract

The scientific societies were self-organized in seventeenth-century. Several attractors articulated elements (the natural philosophers) in a way to establish an identity for a conglomerate inside a new degree of complexity: The scientific societies. In the end of the same century and at the beginning of the eighteenth-century, a new process of self-organization was identified. The scientific societies started acting like elements integrating a new emergent organism in a higher degree of complexity: The Scientific Society (capital letters and singular). This project aims to analyze the self-organizing process of this last entity; either Formation (primary self-organization) and Development (secondary self-organization). (AU)
