EMU awarded in process 2020/16030-0: 96-well metabolic analyzer seahorse XFe96

Abstract

The XFp96e analyzer simultaneously measures, in real time, the two main energy pathways of a cell, mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis in non-sensor-labeled cells, in microplate format. Thus, it is possible to isolate cells, such as different subtypes of macrophages, lymphocytes, adipocytes, among other cell types, and culture them in microplates to evaluate their metabolic profile. Furthermore, Seahorse has an integrated system with 4 independent injection ports that allows the injection of up to 4 components, at different times, to evaluate their effect on cellular metabolism in real time. This has a very significant advantage because, in this case, there is the possibility of manipulating cellular metabolism in real time, being able to insert drugs that interfere in different stages of cellular metabolism. In addition, it makes possible the analysis of the impact of agonists and antagonists of signaling pathways on cellular metabolism. (AU)
