Abstract

Considering that only knowledge is capable of creating sustainable competitive advantages so that organizations can deal with the challenges arising from globalization, technological advances, competitiveness, constant changes, informational explosion, among others, a study carried out previously developed a knowledge management implementation model aimed at organizational memory and strategic guidelines based on critical success factors of this management that consider organizational memory with the intention of contributing to increasing the success rate of knowledge management implementation in the organizational context and providing for the construction of competitive advantages which has been validated in Spanish organizations. Given the expressive results arising from this study, this research aims to validate this model and such guidelines in Brazilian organizations so that new contributions can be added to the model and guidelines, so that these tools can be adapted to the national context and for comparisons between Brazilian and Spanish organizations can make significant contributions to knowledge management and to the field of Information Science. Therefore, this work, in addition to an update of the previously carried out bibliographic survey, proposes to validate the knowledge management implementation model and strategic guidelines based on critical success factors of knowledge management aimed at organizational memory in Brazilian organizations and based on the results found, to develop comparative studies with the results obtained in Spanish organizations. It is believed that carrying out this research can effectively contribute to the consolidation of studies in knowledge management, organizational memory and the area of Information Science, in addition to contributing to more successful cases of knowledge management in organizations.
