Abstract

This Project is associated with our current research program, which involves insect-plant interactions, microbiology, and molecular ecology, having ants as our focal organisms. This research venue were established and amplified through active collaborations with other groups from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (State of São Paulo) and the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (State of Minas Gerais). It is expected that these research venues add to our understanding of ant biodiversity at multiple scales. Therefore, our objectives match those of the BIOTA-FAPESP Program, which entail the knowledge, mapping, and interpretation of the Brazilian biodiversity, including the fauna, flora and microorganisms.
