Unraveling carbon-based nanomaterial fate in plants for safer agricultural practices

Abstract

Nano-based products could help in developing efficient products that would save resources and decrease environmental contamination for crop protection. A part of this technology relies on organic, carbon-based materials. To date, detecting these carbon materials and tracking for their transformation in a plant-soil system is still a challenge. This proposal aims at building an international team between Brazil (UNESP, Uniso) and France (CNRS) to test existing tools that would allow for the quantification of these phases in complex systems. Based on the expected results the proposal can contribute to improve the knowledge in the field of nanotechnology applied to Agriculture and contribute to design of more efficient alternatives to crop protection.
