Abstract

Mixed bird flocks are associations of two or more species, whose cohesion depends on the mutual interactions of their members. Maximizing and reducing predation risks are hypotheses to explain such associations. This phenomenon is still little studied in areas of Atlantic Forest. The work aims to analyze the structure, composition, seasonal dynamics, and area of action of these flocks over a year, relating these data to the availability of food resources. All work will be carried out at the Jureia-Itatins ecological station. (AU)
