Abstract
Heart failure (HF) is defined as the heart inability to supply peripheral tissues with the necessary blood and oxygen amount for metabolic demands, leading to a clinical syndrome characterized by symptoms such as dyspnea or fatigue, and signs such as elevated jugular venous pressure, tachycardia or peripheral edema. The literature reports that disease progression is associated with increased congestion, oxidative stress, inflammation and metabolic changes, whose mechanisms involved are not fully elucidated. Amines are essential molecules for normal cell growth and function. Changes in its levels seem to be associated with cardiac hypertrophy and remodeling and cachexia/sarcopenia, demonstrated by in vivo and experimental studies. However, there are several gaps regarding the relationship between amines and cardiac and clinical-nutritional parameters. The aim will be to investigate the impact of different degrees of CI on the metabolomic profile, levels of circulating endogenous biogenic amines and clinical-nutritional parameters. Cross-sectional study to be carried out with patients being followed up at the Cardiology outpatient clinic of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu-UNESP, already approved by the Institution's Ethics Committee. Clinical and nutritional information will be collected from patients. Plasma levels of amines and the metabolomic profile of patients will be evaluated. The variables will be submitted to descriptive and comparative analysis by specific tests according to their behavior. (AU)
