Abstract

Statistical analysis of complex networks have been vastly studied in the last decades. This research project aims at the formulation and study of statistical models that describe observed properties and structures of real networks. In particular, this project will focus on the study of models that describe community structure in the networks. We will propose statistical methods to estimate the number of communities and to recovery the communities of the network. These methods will be studied theoretically and implemented in practice through simulation studies. (AU)
