Abstract
In the healthcare industry, innovation is paramount for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic solutions, and technological cooperation can enhance knowledge flows. Infectious diseases caused by coronaviruses, such as SARS-CoV-2, pose a global health problem, leading to pandemics; hence, novel medications are imperative. This project aims to comprehensively examine patented diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for Covid-19, systematizing the main networks of cooperation, technological pathways, and emerging technologies. Methodologically, the investigation is centered around scientometric approaches. Patents will be collected from the Thomson Innovation platform, and analyses will encompass thematic classes, social networks, technological pathways, and emerging technologies, utilizing Gephi, Iramuteq, R and Python software. The objective is to advance the state of the art in innovation strategy by systematizing patented diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for Covid-19, elucidating cooperative relationships, knowledge flows, and innovative effects. Significantly, this research underscores technological contributions and insights for decision-makers in the healthcare industry, highlighting prevalent thematic classes, patent holders with technological dominance, most promising diagnostic and therapeutic solutions, potential pro-innovation partners, key networks and technological pathways, alongside a digital artifact to expedite and streamline patent information prospecting on Covid-19 diagnostic and therapeutic solutions. Practical implications also encompass the dissemination of outputs on Covid-19 diagnostic and therapeutic solutions, as well as the facilitation of workshops involving researchers and experts, aiding entrepreneurs and public managers in this ongoing paradigm shift towards establishing a novel, integrated, resilient, and innovative economy.
