Collaboration on the study if polyelectrolyte complexes

Abstract

The activities that will be carried out during Professor Sarah Perry's visit are directly related to the development of collaborative work between the research groups at IQ-Unicamp and the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass - United States). The collaboration with Professor Sarah Perry's group began in 2022 with the internship of student Julia Sabadini (2021/11317-1) and it involved the co-supervision of her doctorate, as well as that of Jussara Alves Penido (2022/16003-8 ). The groups have some collaborative work in the development stage. In this sense, the visit will involve the finalization of these manuscripts, as well as the discussion of another work involving the isothermal calorimetric titration (ITC) technique to obtain thermodynamic variables regarding the interaction between polyelectrolytes and the formation of multiphase coacervates. In addition, Professor Sarah Perry will also present seminars and discuss with researchers interested in her work topic at the Chemistry Institutes of Unicamp, USP São Paulo, and CNPEM. As her research is very current, and its importance is internationally recognized, her visit will certainly result in future collaborations with other researchers at these institutions. She will also visit the Synchrotron Light lines at Sirius in Campinas. Finally, as described in the schedule, the Professor will participate in the doctoral defense of student Julia Sabadini, who is also her student. (AU)
