Abstract

This research project aims the assembly of polyelectrolytes, conductive polymers, enzymes and/or nanostructures (oxides and transition metais complex) on conductive substrates for the development of biosensors and devices for energy conversion. The morphological analysis and nanostructuring of the assembled layers will be performed by means of scanning probe microscopy (SPM), whereas the molecular organization and charge transfer will be determined by Raman spectroscopy and spectroelectrochemistry, respectively. The effect of nanolitography on the substrate and multilayer assemblies on the enzymatic activity and on the microbatteries efficiency is one of the main goals of this project. The present proposal joints the expertise of Prof. Susana 1. C. Torresi and Roberto M. Torresi from the Materiais Eletroativos Lab. IQUSP, and that of Prof. Denise F. S. Petri from the Filmes Finos Poliméricos do IQUSP. Their research fields are concerned with physical chemistry of surfaces and interfaces, colloids electrochemistry, sensors, hybrid materials and electrodes for energy storage. (AU)
