Abstract

Aiming to academically and professionally qualify FGEL/UERJ students to work in the important Oil and Gas market in Brazil, and taking into account the experience of its teaching staff, its physical infrastructure and its institutional insertion, FGEL structured PRH28.1 - Training of Professionals in Basin Analysis Applied to Oil and Natural Gas Exploration, approved by the ANP in 2019, and which has been operating continuously since then.The insertion of geologists from the UERJ Faculty of Geology into the job market available in the country has always been considered a major concern of PRH-28.1. This can be explained by the solid knowledge and great experience of the teaching staff at the Faculty of Geology at UERJ, which has allowed a rapid change or inclusion of curricular components suited to market demands in the petroleum area. Furthermore, since the beginning of its development, PRH-28.1 has excelled in establishing links with companies with private, public and mixed capital, in order to provide adequate training to geologists who have demonstrated a tendency to dedicate, in their professional life, a area of Petroleum Exploration (oil and natural gas).The teaching and research methodology implemented at the Faculty of Geology at UERJ and assimilated by PRH-28.1, since the beginning of its implementation, still in the first phase of the PRH-ANP Program in 1999 and 2000, has proven to be completely adequate to allow an adequate qualification of students trained at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in the area of oil exploration.
