Abstract

The development of human activities is linked to energy consumption, with an increasing demand over the years. Looking for more sustainable ways to generate this energy is a pressing need. This research project presents a form of renewable energy generation that is still little explored in Brazil, even though the country has great potential for its generation, hydrokinetic energy. This energy source presents environmental advantages in relation to other water uses as it does not require water levels for its operation, eliminating the need to build dams, consequently, flooded areas. In this sense, the objective of this project is to evaluate the power generation capacity in the Paraná River, in the section downstream of the Engenheiro Sérgio Motta HPP, in Rosana - SP and verify its economic viability from this project.
