Abstract

The "Center for Studies in Analytics and Security Policies" project, coordinated by FGV in partnership with IRI-USP and the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat, aims to develop a deep understanding of the gray zones of organized crime and its mutations in the contemporary scenario. Leveraging Professor Michael Miklaucic's expertise in gray zone conflicts and organized crime, the project seeks to identify and analyze new modalities of conflict and their implications for public security.Professor Miklaucic's visit is crucial for the success of this project due to his extensive experience and knowledge in contemporary conflicts, particularly in the gray zones involving the intersection of organized crime, terrorism, and cybercrime. His participation includes conducting academic workshops, guiding the application of analytical methodologies, and integrating advanced data analysis techniques with public security practice in Brazil. This exchange will enhance the analytical and operational capabilities of the security forces, contributing to the development of more effective and innovative policies in combating organized crime.
