Abstract

Since 2002, the Ergonomics and Interfaces Laboratory (LEI) at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), Bauru-SP campus, associated with the Department of Design and the Postgraduate Program in Design, has brought together researchers, teachers, post-doctoral students, doctoral students, master's students, undergraduates and scientific initiation students around research and studies in the field of Ergonomic Design, to understand the interrelationship and balance between Design and Ergonomics, with a special focus on usability. This proposal aims to continue research, academic training, and scientific development activities, substantially increasing the quality of these activities. The Visiting Researcher has notable competence in her field, with significant scientific production in the last ten years, in addition, to experience in supervising scientific initiation, master's and doctoral co-supervision students, having participated in the Research Group "Industrial Design: Project and Interfaces ", linked to LEI, for more than ten years. This proposal presents an activity plan that includes improving student training through offering subjects, lectures, and complementary activities, sharing knowledge and experiences in the area of activity, and contributing to the development of technical-scientific skills of undergraduate and postgraduate students. graduation. Furthermore, it includes collaboration in the development and execution of ongoing research projects at the Host Institution, coordinated by the Principal Investigator, as well as the support and supervision of scientific initiation and postgraduate students in their research, providing academic support, participating in panels, and co-supervising academic work. Another objective is to contribute to the enrichment of the academic environment through the promotion of seminars, lectures, and discussion groups that enable the exchange of knowledge between the academic community, professionals, and the general public, promoting the dissemination of the culture of Design and Ergonomics. Support in fundraising and the formation of research networks is also a goal, encouraging the creation of projects that explore Design, Ergonomics, and Usability in the face of contemporary challenges, establishing partnerships and collaborations with other researchers and institutions to create and strengthen research networks and promote academic exchange and internationalization. The proposal also foresees the contribution to the writing of scientific articles, book chapters, and technical reports, based on the results of research carried out during the visit. These activities have the potential to increase the productivity of the Postgraduate Program and the Institution. The Visiting Researcher's visit program will be widely publicized to reach a wide audience interested in the visitor's areas of research and work. At the end of the visit, it is expected that links with professors and researchers from other institutions will be expanded, bringing a diversity of perspectives, expertise, and updates to the contemporary scenario of research in Design, Ergonomics, and Usability. It is expected that scientific and academic production will be strengthened, encouraging publications in high-impact journals and participation in academic events. Furthermore, the academic environment should be enriched with the organization of seminars, lectures, and discussion groups. The provision of courses and workshops will contribute to the training of students, while the supervision of postgraduate students will promote advances in their research. Finally, it is believed that the interaction between the Visiting Researcher and local researchers will establish lasting collaborations, fostering interdisciplinary research and the exchange of knowledge and expanding the impact of Unesp's academic and scientific activities.
