Abstract

Handling documentation and legal transitions is a typical part of people's daily routines. Places such as notary offices and government projects, like Poupatempo, are institutions responsible for ensuring the authenticity, security, and legality of various documents and legal transactions. The services provided by notary offices cover a wide range of activities, including civil registrations, property registrations, notarial records, authentications, and notarizations. Meanwhile, the services provided by Poupatempo aim to offer a quick and easy experience for handling bureaucratic and administrative matters. In October 2016, self-service kiosks for basic services such as printing basic documents and scheduling appointments for any physical unit of the program began to be distributed in locations such as shopping centers, supermarkets, metro, and train stations, among others. These kiosks use microcontrollers, which play a vital role in controlling and executing specific tasks in electronic devices. They are programmed to perform a variety of functions, such as collecting data from sensors, processing information, controlling output devices, and interacting with the surrounding environment. Their real-time processing capabilities and low power consumption make them ideal for embedded applications and autonomous devices. With this in mind, Giro Payments conceived a project that aims to bring all these needs together in one place. It proposes to study hardware, operating systems, and the development of software for the production of a device that facilitates self-service concerning the facilitations that Poupatempo performs through the use of kiosks, unifying digital notary documentation with other governmental organizations. This will be achieved by studying the best microcontrollers available on the market, the IoT (Internet of Things) framework, hardware protocols, operating systems, and software development, aiming to reduce the production cost of the kiosk and make them available in high-traffic areas to facilitate citizens' daily lives, thereby expanding digitized access to services offered by Giro. During phase 1, the project's focus is on studying the hardware to be used, aiming to enable a better cost-benefit ratio for large-scale production of the product to be developed. (AU)
