Abstract

With climate change and the growing number of inhabitants in the world, the perspective of world food production turns to solutions and approaches capable of reconciling the constant changes in natural cycles with the mitigation of the so-called food and nutritional insecurity, in order to guarantee food in quantity and quality necessary to nourish individuals. Given this scenario, agriculture, which is the pillar of food systems, has been incorporating technological approaches, in order to culminate in agriculture 4.0, which aims at technologies that capture data from the field, interpret them and generate a response, such as a microcontrolled system, which makes it possible to acquire data from environmental conditions and send them to the internet. In addition, the development of agriculture is not restricted to technologies, but also to the selection of resistant and productive plants, such as sorghum, which is drought tolerant. In this sense, this work considers the new technologies of agriculture 4.0, such as microcontrolled systems and the IoT (internet of things). In particular, a monitoring system is proposed for the sorghum crop, given its adaptability, which will use a wireless sensor network, allowing the monitoring of environmental conditions throughout production, as well as sending data to the internet, providing to the producer greater accuracy in production management
