Abstract

This application aims to consolidate a collaboration between two research groups with overlapping interests and synergistic experimental competences. Our groups are located at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Here, we propose a plan of joint activities including visits and exchange of faculty staff and PhD students. These exchanges will allow us to create and strengthen collaboration for ongoing projects, provide training to graduate students and postdoc fellows through seminars and workshops, and seed new collaborative projects that will potentially result in joint grant applications. The SPRINT grant application is an opportunity for us to establish a long-term alliance that will lead to an advance in our understanding on the regulation of thermogenesis by lipids, metabolites, and their G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs).
