Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most prevalent neuropsychiatric disorders in childhood, affecting approximately 5% of children worldwide. In addition to being associated with inattention, disorganization, and/or hyperactivity, behavioral changes linked to autonomic control dysfunction are also observed, such as increased sympathetic tone and decreased vagal tone, along with alterations in respiratory patterns. Regarding treatment, between 20% and 25% of ADHD patients do not respond satisfactorily to medications, and potential side effects may lead to treatment discontinuation. The proposal aims to build upon the project funded by the PIPE Phase I program, which focused on developing an integrated clinical platform and interactive gamified intervention tailored for children with ADHD to assist in breathing exercises. The goals of this current project involve advancing the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) conceived in PIPE Phase I (TRL5), adding specific and innovative lines of action for commercial development, and introducing the proposed solution to the market (TRL8). The product will be implemented by SELF, a company specializing in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data management, and treatment support services, and monetized through monthly subscription packages, integrating intelligence and technology into treatment. The market potential of the product is based on the number of children with ADHD in Brazil (2.8 million), aiming to reach 5% of this target audience within five years. Scientific challenges include integrating electrophysiological signal modules to enhance game control, developing a mobile version with touchscreen interaction and sensor connectivity for real-time biofeedback processing adapted to mobile devices, adhering to robust data security protocols compliant with LGPD regulations. Additionally, the proposal includes implementing an optimized Data Lake for future application of artificial intelligence algorithms. This structure will enable personalized interventions based on predictive analysis and machine learning. The ability to customize therapy according to clinical needs is a key feature, considering the diversity of profiles in ADHD, which may enhance user engagement and adherence, consequently optimizing treatment outcomes.
