Abstract

In recent years, EESC has been investing heavily in improving the quality and security of IT services used by all EESC researchers, either with the Unit's own budget resources, with resources from the Information Technology Superintendence (STI-USP) of the University of São Paulo, or with resources from funding agencies, such as the Technical Reserve for Institutional Research Infrastructure (RTI) of FAPESP. Some examples of IT investments that have received FAPESP resources in recent years include: acquisition, installation and expansion of the HP BladeSystem C7000 Server; expansion and improvement of the Wi-Fi signal coverage of the USPnet wireless network in various EESC buildings; modernization of active equipment in EESC local networks (switches, routers and firewalls) and its devices that complement the local network (UPS, access points, IP monitoring cameras, access control, VoIP telephony, etc.); air conditioning of the EESC Data Center; technical assistance and firewall services, among others. Therefore, to maintain the proper functioning of this IT infrastructure, this plan presents demands related to the technological update of local network equipment, management of the UPS and battery infrastructure, and replacement of the current EESC backup server.Another demand presented in this plan is the contracting of a fire prevention and fighting system project, which is of great importance for the safety of our researchers, equipment, and research, continuing projects already approved in a previous RTI. Still focusing on the safety of researchers and facilities, we request resources for the installation of an animal containment system, which will enable the use of several laboratories that are underutilized due to the risk involved in the presence of ticks that can transmit spotted fever. Finally, we also request maintenance of research and laboratory equipment, always valuing the good use of the resources allocated to us. (AU)
