Abstract

The Multi-User Laboratory for Sequencing and Gene Expression Analysis (LMSeq) has been providing specialized services in sequencing, nucleic acid extraction, purification, and gene expression analysis for over a decade. Since the installation of its first next-generation sequencer, the HiScanSQ - Illumina, in 2011, and the subsequent acquisition of complementary equipment funded by FAPESP (processes #2009/53984-2 and #2016/07679-7), LMSeq has established itself as a significant institutional infrastructure. Located on the UNESP campus in Jaboticabal, in the interior of São Paulo state, the laboratory features appropriate physical infrastructure and employs highly qualified and trained technicians, committed to meeting researchers' needs. We offer support and services not only for projects developed at UNESP-FCAV but also to scientists from other institutions and universities in São Paulo and other regions of the country, who seek to explore LMSeq's advanced capabilities. In this EMU-PMP project, we propose the upgrade and maintenance of our facility's equipment, aiming to continue supporting cutting-edge research. Our proposal is also based on nine associated projects that require these latest-generation genomic technologies. The demand for this modernization stems from the growing need to maintain international scientific competitiveness, enabling researchers and scientists in our state to access state-of-the-art technologies for sample processing and DNA or RNA sequencing with (ultra) long reads, as well as the implementation of high-performance bioinformatics platforms for data support and analysis.
