Abstract
This is a proposal for the acquisition of three devices aimed at evaluating cardiovascular and respiratory parameters in various settings. They are:Ergospirometer K5 COSMED: A portable ergospirometer enabling the analysis of ventilatory parameters in both laboratory and non-laboratory environments. Its versatility allows assessments across diverse populations, from children to athletes and individuals with illnesses, providing pertinent data on cardiorespiratory demands.Sphygmocor XCel: This device serves as the gold standard for non-invasive assessment of central arterial pressure and pulse wave velocity, a significant marker of arterial stiffness. Its portability and high validity permit robust data comparisons in different settings, including schools, clinics, and research environments.Human NIBP Nano Foundation System: A continuous blood pressure monitoring system that records and measures blood pressure non-invasively using a double-finger cuff system. Apart from monitoring blood pressure, this system provides valuable information on cardiovascular risk-related variables across different populations, in both hospital settings and clinical research. These devices are acknowledged for their quality and have the potential to positively impact research and innovation in the State of São Paulo by offering detailed and precise data on cardiovascular and respiratory parameters. The portability of these devices enhances their utility across multiple centers within the state. The associated projects presented in this proposal are just two examples showcasing how these devices could enhance and improve their quality, a potential that could extend to numerous other research endeavors conducted in the State of São Paulo.
