Abstract

Enzymes are molecules can catalyze chemical reactions under light conditions. For this reason, it can be used in various industrial sectors, obtaining more efficient and environmentally friendly processes. In this context, the development of technology that facilitates the application of enzymes in industrial processes is important and it agrees to the global perspective in obtaining cheaper, energy efficient and ecologically correct friendly process. Therefore, this project aims are to produce xylanase and endoglucanase enzymes using the expression system described in patent BR 10 2014 017026 0, authored by USP and Verdartis, in E. coli strains with low endotoxin production. Therefore, it aims to obtain a safer process for the application of enzymes in the food and pharmaceutical sector, through a patented and nationally owned expression system. Thereunto, topics such as: i) Study of enzyme production through a heterologous expression system using Escherichia coli E. coli with low endotoxin production, ii) Evaluation of the primary enzyme purification process and iii) Evaluation of the production process of oligosaccharides, with prebiotic potential prebiotics that can be produced from agro-industrial by-product waste, i.e. sugarcane bagasse and straw. Therefore, it is expected to obtain a production process with 100% national expression system of enzymes for the food and, possibly, pharmaceutical sectors. It also hopes to work on training human resources related to bioprocesses as well as consolidating some national and international cooperations. (AU)
