Abstract

The proposed technological solution involves the development of a product containing exosomes derived from mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) formulated in a topical spray to facilitate application and penetration into the skin of dogs with atopic dermatitis. This solution aims to address the specific challenges associated with CAD in an innovative and effective manner. MSC exosomes have potent immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties, making them promising candidates for the treatment of chronic inflammatory conditions such as CAD. They contain a complex cargo of bioactive molecules (proteins, lipids, and microRNAs) that reduce inflammation, modulate the immune response, and promote skin healing and tissue regeneration. Additionally, In Situ, the company behind this proposal, previously developed a Biogel containing exosomes and demonstrated the product's safety in in vitro and preclinical studies, as well as its efficacy in an experimental wound model in mice. In this project, we propose the adaptation of the Biogel product into a spray for better applicability in the treatment of CAD. (AU)
