"Sounds in Theater: terms and concepts

Abstract

The "Sounds in Theater" research project aims to collectively develop entries for a homonymous dictionary, unprecedented in Portuguese-speaking countries, through terminological and conceptual research to be published in 8 volumes in collection format. It currently has 63 researchers linked to 26 educational institutions in the 5 regions of the country and funding from CNPq/MCTI/FNDCT No 18/2021 - Track A - Emerging Groups. In confluence, the FAPESP Young Researcher project "Sound Archives of Theatre" (2022/15032-4), under the responsibility of researcher Rafaella Uhiara, developed at the School of Communication and Arts of the University of São Paulo focuses, in one of its main axes, on the definition of concepts and vocabularies. Among other collaborators, the JP project "Sound Archives of Theatre " has a partnership with the official École Universitaire de Recherche Translitterae, which is continuing the research begun by the project for an international glossary of theater sound, coordinated by emeritus researcher Marie-Madeleine Mervant-Roux of the CNRS (France). This proposal for a Collaborating Researcher aims to add to the "Sound Archives of Theatre" the expertise, network of collaborators and stages of research already developed by Lignelli in order to broaden the impact of the project based on representative, consistent and referential results for scene sound studies.
