Abstract

Nano and Supramolecular Chemistry are key in the development of systems with functional, chemo- and physically stimulated properties, bringing gains and improvements in industrial processes and applications, in addition to assisting in the investigation of the phenomenologies related to molecular processes. These two areas entangle to create molecular systems with properties and characteristics that provide high performance materials. This research proposal addresses fundamental and application issues in both areas and along the following lines: i. Supramolecular Systems emphasizing light-induced association events and directing groups, acoustic wave-induced crystallization, and development of molecular eutectic liquids; and ii. Nanochemistry with emphasis on the preparation of nanoparticulate hydrogels and organogels for CO2 capture, and metal oxide hybrid systems for photodegradation of microplastics. The proposal covers technological topics of significant interest to the scientific community in the respective areas and will bring gains both towards fundamental aspects and in the creation of new technologies and material properties.
