Abstract

Prof. Julietta Rau's relationship with the Laboratory of Anelasticity and Biomaterials started in 2019, on the occasion of the 6th Workshop on Artificial Organs, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, where she was one of the invited speakers, with the support of FAPESP (Proc. 2019/20791-9). Taking advantage of her visit, Profa. Julietta visited the Laboratory in Bauru, where she visited our facilities and taught part of a course to the Graduate Program in Materials Science and Technology (POSMAT) students.With the COVID-19 Pandemic, cooperation activities returned in 2022, and we were invited to be a keynote speaker at the 3rd BioMaH International Conference, which took place in Rome (Italy) from October 18 to 21, 2022. Taking advantage of the congress, we spent another week in Rome, discussing joint activities and possibly sending students for internships in her laboratory within the Capes PrInt Program.Four students have already been to Rome, carrying out research activities. Another student, this FAPESP scholarship holder, is scheduled to go in May 2025. In October 2024, we were again in Rome for another week and articulated the possibility of a visit by Profa. Julietta is going to Brazil again this year, to discuss more projects together, new student internships, seminars, and classes at POSMAT. This collaboration has already yielded us more than 10 jointly published works. Thus, this project aims at the coming of Profa. Julieta will be in Brazil for 15 days to strengthen our research collaboration further. (AU)
