Abstract

Hospital Cancer Registries (HCRs) are systematic sources of information about cancer diagnosis, treatment, and progression in general and specialized hospitals. This project aims to develop an advanced technological platform for managing and analyzing oncology data from HCRs of the State of São Paulo (SP), in partnership with the Information and Epidemiology Directorate of the Fundação Onconcentro de São Paulo (FOSP). As well as to advance scientific research. The project's core involves developing a platform will feature a dedicated server for secure data storage and automated quality control techniques, with web capability and simultaneous processing. Utilizing a data lake, the platform will integrate artificial intelligence technologies to streamline data consolidation from hospitals and generate real-time dashboards. These dashboards, accessible in a control room, will include HCR quality indicators, patient access to diagnosis and treatment, epidemiological and clinical profiles, georeferenced maps, and instant survival calculation tools. The platform will enable data analysis and the evaluation of various HCRs across different levels: FOSP and other Health Department managers, hospitals (cancer registrars, oncology coordinators, and clinical directors), researchers, and the public. The scientific component will include collaboration with postgraduate students for research development based on innovation processes and data. The proposal aims to enhance agility and transparency to data analysis, strengthening health information systems for cancer surveillance. It will enhance oncology data management and visualization, stimulate data use for effective public policy formulation in cancer control and resource distribution, and contribute to improved healthcare for the São Paulo population.
