Abstract

This project proposal for the joint Fapesp/TU Delft Sprint program is to support long-term research collaboration between Dr. Josué Labaki (University of Campinas - Unicamp), Dr. Renato Picelli (University of São Paulo - USP) and Dr. Jovana Jovanova (Delft University of Technology - TU Delft). The proposal builds on the ongoing collaboration between our three groups, which has an established track record, and proposes a plan on how to expand it and increase its scientific, technological, and societal impact. We propose to bring together the lead PIs and our research groups to collaborate on complementary research initiatives and establish a plan for sustainable, long-term research exchange. Supported by initial funding from this Sprint program, the lead PIs will develop joint research proposals to be submitted for funding to the Dutch Research Council (NWO) and to the São Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp) to increase the impact of our collaboration. The research work leverages our complementary expertise in multiphysics, large-scale analysis to tackle problems in design optimization of structures in offshore applications. (AU)
