Abstract

This project involves the Department of Naval and Ocean Engineering (DENO) and the Ocean Engineering Program (PEnO) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), aiming to train high-qualified professionals in the fields of Naval and Ocean Engineering. The focus is on research and applied technologies across various segments of the maritime industry, with a particular emphasis on offshore oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) and marine renewable energy. The research carried out in undergraduate and master's theses, as well as doctoral dissertations, employs experimental, numerical, and analytical modeling techniques to develop innovative solutions for industry challenges. The courses and research activities are directed toward solving problems related to marine renewable energy, energy efficiency, subsea technology, water transport, as well a, structures, design, construction, repair, and hydrodynamics of ships and offshore platforms.
