Abstract

To meet the needs of the energy sector, promote technological progress, and strengthen the university as a scientific and academic hub, UFS wants to start a Human Resources Training Program in Natural Gas Production and Processing, Green Hydrogen, and Environmental Management. The program responds to the growing need for specialized professionals and the sector's relevance to the regional and national economy. In this way, UFS positions itself strategically by proposing this program, which aims not only to meet the demand for advanced professionals but also to contribute to the advancement of innovative technologies and the strengthening of Sergipe as a hub of excellence in the energy sector.UFS maintains a close relationship with companies in the oil and gas sector, signing agreements and strategic partnerships to carry out research and technology development. Some of the companies involved include operators such as Petrobras, Carmo Energy, Origem, ENGEPET, and ENEVA, as well as partnerships and agreements with SERGIPETEC, Rede Petrogas, and PENSE, which maintains technology cooperation for the development of companies in the state. In relation to green hydrogen, the creation of an academic program in this area would train qualified professionals to work in the development, research and application of technologies related to green hydrogen, stimulating innovation and strengthening the local and national energy sector. Furthermore, the course would contribute to the advancement of the sustainable economy in Sergipe, attracting investment and positioning the state as a reference investment for clean energy. Thus, the implementation of the aforementioned program brought together the undergraduate departments in Engineering: Chemistry, Petroleum, Materials, Environmental and Sanitary, Department of Chemistry and postgraduate courses in Chemistry and Biotechnology to offer courses in: Specialization in Natural Gas Production and Processing; Specialization in Energy Production with Green Hydrogen; Specialization in Environmental Management in the Petroleum Industry for undergraduate students from the aforementioned undergraduate departments and the course: Energy Efficiency and Environmental Benefits in the Production of Oil, Natural Gas and Green Hydrogen for master's and doctoral students. With the Regional Oil and Gas Center as its infrastructure, strategic partnerships and a qualified teaching staff, UFS is prepared to meet the sector's growing demand, contributing to the advancement of research, regional development and technological innovation in Brazil. Furthermore, the multidisciplinary collaboration of the undergraduate and postgraduate departments at UFS to create this program represents a significant milestone for both students. This integration offers highly qualified multidisciplinary training, preparing them for the emerging demands of the job market; to the ANP, by training specialized human resources, the program helps companies in the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors to count on a highly qualified workforce, meeting the safety, efficiency and sustainability requirements imposed by sector regulations; Just as for UFS, the program is an excellent opportunity to reaffirm its mission as a trainer of professionals and producer of knowledge, strengthening the institution in the research scenario, enabling the promotion of new projects, partnerships and scientific publications, which, in turn, attracts resources and investments for the development of research and technologies in the energy and environmental field.Given all of this, we believe that this is the ideal moment for the Federal University of Sergipe to request its inclusion in this select and privileged scientific-technological group, strengthening its contribution to the advancement of the sector and expanding its opportunities for collaboration in research and development with the ANP and operators in the energy sector.
