Abstract

Assessment of the results and impacts of the projects of "MCTI Bioeconomy Production Chains Program" for the promotion and aggregation of value in production chains originated from Brazilian biodiversity, considering sustainability and the well-being of populations. The Coordination of Programs and Projects in Bioeconomy of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (COBIO/MCTI) has been responsible, since 2016, for subsidizing the formulation of public policies and the definition of strategies and plans focused on scientific, technological and innovation in the country aimed at the building-up, consolidation and strengthening, on sustainable and circular bases, of the various sectors that make up the Brazilian bioeconomy. Within the scope of COBIO, the main direct action developed is the MCTI Bioeconomy Production Chains Program, which since 2020 aims to foster scientific research, technological development and innovation for the promotion, aggregation and retention of value in Brazilian biodiversity production chains, considering its sustainability and the improvement of the quality of life of the populations that depend on it.
