Abstract

We identified the need for equipment replacement at FEIS. Therefore, we emphasized the need to purchase UPSs to protect research equipment located in the Electrical Engineering Department, replacing similar equipment that is out of service and prevents use due to the risk of damage to expensive equipment. In 2018, the Ilha Solteira Campus received a donation from CESP, a large laboratory structure that comprised the largest dam research center in Latin America between the 1970s and 1990s. This location has now been transformed into Campus IV of Unesp/Ilha Solteira and is now housing several researchers from the unit. Furthermore, for the full development of its activities, a dedicated fiber optic network is required to connect the servers located on Campus I to Campus IV.The Department of Physics and Chemistry houses the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), one of four multi-user devices of this nature in operation at Unesp. The filament system is a key consumable for the equipment's operation. It should be noted that the equipment is essential for the research development of a group of faculty from the Ilha Solteira Campus and other units and institutions and does not have specific funding for the acquisition of expensive consumables. The Department of Civil Engineering has a number of equipment that require maintenance in various research areas, which cannot be met with the unit's funding alone. The Department of Physics and Chemistry requires an ultrapure water purifier to perform a series of analyses that require high purity, also serving other departments and graduate programs. The reverse osmosis system, in addition to saving energy and water, provides high-quality water for the analyses conducted in the Department of Plant Science, Food Technology, and Socioeconomics. The acquisition of water troughs, troughs, and fence posts will support the research being conducted by the unit's beef cattle and dairy research departments.Since this request is extremely important and urgent, I request due consideration of the financial resources required to purchase the equipment and remain available for any further clarification. The Institutional Technical Reserve will partially meet the needs of the University Unit on an emergency basis.
