Abstract
This project aims to investigate the phenomenon of political violence through the collection and analysis of cases of political lethality in Brazil. Employing mixed methods, it focuses on the sociopolitical profiles of the involved agents and the underlying logic of political conflicts that escalate into lethal violence. The research encompasses two key analytical dimensions relevant to political sociology, spanning both short-term and longitudinal perspectives: 1) the relationship between political violence and social hierarchy; and 2) the recurring patterns of political violence that solidify into distinct styles of political assassination.
