Abstract
The area of activity of the group is centered on the mechanics and thermohydrodynamics of many-body systems arbitrarily away from equilibrium. The core of the Project consists into the study of the foundations, formalisms, and methods associated to this frontier field of Physics, including mechanical-statistical foudnations of irreversible thermodynamics and generalized nonlinear hydrodynamics, and the building of a reliable nonlinear quantum kinetic theory of a large scope. These objectives are accompanied with efforts to apply the basic theory to physical situations, of either scientific or technological interest, for which are available a satisfactory level of experimental results. Among them we may mention the physical - mainly optical and transport - properties of the photoinejected plasma in semiconductors, either in bulk or in systems with lower dimensionality (wires, pilars, etc.), the case of molecular polymers and biopolymers, including the study of symergetic self-organization, etc. (AU)
