New materials, studies and innovative applications for CVD diamonds and diamond-like carbon (DLC)

Abstract

This proposal is devoted to my continuation and increment of research and development related with our work concerning to CVD diamond and its related materials involving our Institution and other neighbor research groups. It is intended to get financial support for new equipment, including all kind of materials and services to improvement of new reactors, assembling, tests and operations and for different kind of characterization techniques related with scientific and technological innovation. Also, it is requiring financial support for student formation, national and international cooperation. Studies with XPS, raman scattering spectroscopy at room and at low temperature, atomic force microscopy, lateral force microscopy, nano indentation, are some examples of characterization techniques that will be emphasized in this proposal. Also, important parts of this proposal are studies of boron and lithium doping in CVD diamond and, a double ion beam assisted system assembling for DLC growth, with very high adherence and hardness and very low friction coefficient, for space and industrial applications.
