Light beamline for experiments of small angle x-ray scattering and diffraction using synchroton radiation

Abstract

This thematic team project has as its main objective the construction of a light beamline for carrying out experiments of small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS), which should operate in an outlet with a "wiggler” of the LNLS synchrotron currently under construction. The instrumentation for this beam should be designed to meet the needs of the projects of researchers throughout the country interested in the use of this technique. The main parts of the beamline are: a) a 2 Tesla 'wiggler', b) a 'front-end' outlet of the 'wiggler', c) curved crystal monochromator and d) the instrumentation which comprises the experiment station. The proposing team is made up of researchers from the IFGW/UNICAMP and the LNLS and USP. The project will be developed over three years, during which time we hope to have the beam tested and ready to operate. For this we require the funding we are requesting. (AU)
