Abstract

The Project has several goals. On the one hand, it pursues a highly competitive and up to date multidisciplinary research program, basically conducted at USP, in São Paulo, with the collaboration of several institutions from Brazil and abroad. On the other hand, it performs the transference of basic methodology to a region which at present has the highest prevalence of our parasitic diseases. Finally it promotes the integration of these two large objectives through: a) applied research upon local problems of the endemic diseases of Rondonia, with the support and know how from the associated institutions.
