Abstract

The purpose of this project is to perform preliminary genomic profiling of Brazilian trees, providing a catalog of the genome sizes, based on the C-values, of at least 100 Brazilian tree species. This catalog, in the form of a CD-ROM and an Internet-based web page, besides published scientific article(s), would provide grounds for future genomic studies of Brazilian trees and a genomic framework to the study of genetic diversity in Brazilian forests.
