Abstract

Seeing the invisible.Experimental flow visualization is a science - and an art dedicated to develop methods and techniques to turn visible phenomena or physical properties associated with fluid motion. A flow visualization system is constituted of an apparatus to create a flow under controlled conditions, a device able to transform physical properties into images and an equipment to capture and permanent storage of images for post processing in order to obtain qualitative and quantitative desirable flow information. In the present effort of work, the study of a flow, for moderated Reynolds number, in a channel with protuberances on the wall should be performed utilizing flow visualization in hydrodynamic medium as main work tool. Additionally, the rebuilding of a low turbulence hydrodynamic tunnel of the Flow Visualization Laboratory of Unesp should be made, including the preliminary test of the flow quality in the test section.
