Abstract

The aim of the present study is to investigate the theme that involves Biosecurity measures in Dentistry and to identify the perceptions of dental students. A qualitative analysis will be undertaken among dental students of Araraquara School of Dentistry - UNESP that perform dental treatment in patients. Qualitative interviews with 100 volunteers will be based on opened questions and each interview will be recorded. Their speeches will be transcribed in paper in order to be analyzed, and the QUALI-QUANTISOFT software, which allows the Analysis of the Collective Speeches (DSC) according to the methodology proposed by Lefèvre & Lefèvre (2003) will be applied. Three methodological figures will be obtained: central ideas, key-expressions and the DSC itself. The qualitative analysis is a rigorous resource in the evaluation of natural talk of the collectivity, and it is hoped to obtain a better comprehension of beliefs and of the level of knowledge in Biosecurity measures of the subjects involved in this study. Moreover, it is expected to evaluate the protective measures in individual and collective levels that they use and are expected to follow. The results of this study can help identifying probable gaps of the learning process, favoring future educational strategies based on motivation to Biosecurity guideline adherence, that are essential when dealing with dental patients.
