Abstract

The experiment will evaluate the performance of the Anglo-Nubian goat and the morphogenetic and structural characteristics of Tanzania grass, the production of methane by the technique of SF6 in different residual LAI under rotational stocking system. The experiment period will be from November/2009 to october/2011. The area will be subdivided into 18 paddocks of 243 m2. Evaluation related to the grass, the experiment will be arranged in a randomized block with three residual LAI (0.8 - 1.6 - 2.4 IAFr) and six replications. To study the performance of the animal experiment, in Phase 1, the experiment will consist of three residual LAI with nine replications of a completely randomized design. In Phase 2, the experiment would consist of nine treatments in a factorial (3x3), three residual LAI and three supplements, according to a randomized design with three replications. The rest period will be adopted according to the criterion of 95% of IL. Animals will grazing until the LAI pre-determined for the residue. Samples will be collected in the pre and post-grazing to determine the total mass and morphological components. It will also been certain morphogenetic and structural characteristics of the pastures and the emission of CO2, temperature and humidity in the soil. Will be calculate of the grazing time, rumination and others, as well as the variables that reflect the ingestive behavior in grazing as the mass, area, depth and rate of the bit. Laboratory tests will be made to estimate the chemical composition of the pasture consumed by the animals through the collection of samples of the stratum grazing the grass. It will be estimated consumption of animal feed by means of indicators (LIPE and FDNi), intake of supplement, the methane production of grazing by the technique of tracer gas, weight gain and quantitative aspects in vivo and percentage of cuts.
