Abstract

Because of the attacks of nematodes and D. bryoniae on muskmelon cultivation under greenhouse, this project has objective to select resistant rootstocks to D. bryoniae, M. incognita and M.javanica and evaluate their effects on the muskmelon yield. The project will be separated in three tests. Test I: selection of rootstocks to D. bryoniae. Will be tested 23 genotypes of cucurbits for the pathogen resistance by the inoculation of fungus utilizing a toothpick. The inoculated seedlings will be evaluated by scale of notes. Test II: selection of resistant rootstocks to M incognita. Will be tested 23 genotypes from Test I, by eggs and second stage juveniles/mL inoculation. For the reproduction factor of nematodes will be verified the resistance of genotypes studied. To Meloidogyne javanica will be realized the same procedure before. Test III: Will be verified the effects of rootstocks on the muskmelon yield on two seasons cultivation. Will be used rootstocks to muskmelon 'Bônus n2' and 'Fantasy'. Will be realized the success tax of seedlings grafted at transplante day. The plants will be conducted on vertical. Keeping two fruits per plant. The quantitative and qualitative characteristics of fruits will be evaluated and means will be compared by Tukey test (p=0,05). (AU)
