Abstract

The main objective of this project is to modify and characterize thin film surfaces using plasma. Two different approaches will be adopted in our work. The first one is to do low energy ion implantation of metals, using plasmas, in order to fabricate dielectric-conductor composites. This part of the project will be the theme of the PhD thesis of the student Fernanda de Sá Teixeira. The second approach consists on producing nanostructured diamond surfaces with oxidized selected areas, using originally hydrogenated diamond surfaces. This second part is the theme of the Master of the student Wagner Wlysses Rodrigues de Araújo. (AU)
