Abstract

Because of the available data for Guarani aquifer from previous studies, the purpose of this investigation is to utilize them coupled to other hydrogeochemical and radiometric information for a comparative/integrate survey involving Bauru, Serra Geral and Guarani aquifers, whose waters are extensively utilized by water-supply systems in São Paulo State. This study will involve the analysis of groundwater samples from deep tubular wells exploiting the three aquifer systems, which were drilled along three selected sections in São Paulo State. In addition, other questions related to the radiological quality of the waters will be focused, as the Bauru, Serra Geral and Guarani aquifers are very important hydrological resources for providing drinking water in São Paulo State.
