Abstract

The main goal of this proposal is to validate identification and control design techniques for linear parameter varying (LPV) systems on a experimental setup. Example of such LPV systems, whose dynamics change as a function of some scheduling parameters, are: aerospace structures that are subject to extreme temperature changes; and robotics systems used in pick-and-place applications. The proposed experimental validation is of paramount importance in order to certify that the LPV technique recently developed can be indeed used in industrial applications. For this purpose, the controllers will be implemented in real-time. It is also worth to emphasize there are almost no experimental results available in the literature on identification and control of LPV systems. This is an area of considerable importance for the aeronautics and automotive industry. This proposal also aims to: i) help with the infrastructure necessary for the implementation of the Dynamic and Control Laboratory; ii) strength the existent collaborations among the School of Mechanical Engineering (UNICAMP), the School of Computer and Electrical Engineering (UNICAMP), Department of Mechanical Engineering (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium), and the Laboratoire D'Analyse Et D'Architecture Des Systemes (France).
